About the event
Food is a big part of why I love Southeast Asia so much. From the bustling street-food markets to high-end restaurants, Thai & Cambodian cuisine never fails to amaze. The balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors is an art form. Living in Thailand so long has allowed me to dive deep into both traditional Thai dishes and innovative fusion creations. Now imagine an expedition where you can let all your guards down and be able to eat absolutely EVERYTHING, free from worrying about hidden fish sauce, free from having to read labels or ask questions, this tour is about food, and it’s all Vegan. We’ll be visiting Thailand’s and Cambodia's top Vegan eateries, focusing on Asian cuisines but also getting a good blend of other nations cuisines and kitchens, and we’ll participate in several Vegan cooking workshops.
Our tour will take us to the bustling capital Bangkok, to the beautiful tropical beaches of Koh Samui, to Thailand’s Northern region visiting Chiangmai, Chiang Dao, and Pai, and to Cambodia's Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. You’ll get a taste of Southeast Asia's big city life, tropical beaches, small town slow-life, mountains, waterfalls, hot springs, temples and a good amount of time available for spiritual practices. We’ll have full busy days, as well as relaxed days dedicated to yoga, meditation and relaxation.
This tour happens during what's know in Southeast Asia as Green season or rainy season. It is the region's low tourist season which means no crowds and no lines anywhere. Expect some rain daily, most days about an hour of rain in the afternoon and sunshine rest of the day. Average temperatures are typically from low to mid 30’s (°C) or mid 80’s to high 90’s (°F). This period is not right for everyone some days will get very hot and other days may get very wet. But if you can take the heat, and happy to avoid the crowds, this is the most beautiful time of year to be in Southeast Asia - vegetation is beautiful lush Green, rivers are flowing and waterfalls are peaking. For me personally, Green season is the best time of year to travel in in the region.
